Consisting of two volumes, La Galleria Spelone documents the Sperone Gallerys history with images from more than 150 artists hosted in Turin, Rome, and New York. The first volume centers around the Gallery in Turin from 1963 to 1972- the second volume picks up with the opening of gallery spaces in Rome and New York, and extends from 1972 to the present day, ending with a chronological and geographical listing of all the exhibitions and artists. Serving as both a critical and historical document of the Sperone Gallerys history, La Galleria Spelone acts as a history of the past four decades of avant-garde art as well.
